December 2008
- Nearly at the end of the year and busier than ever! At the beginning of
the month our ELS choir sang at the Mencap Christmas Carol Concert at
Worcester Cathedral. We had an amazing time and thoroughly enjoyed the
venue. Many thanks to everyone involved in organizing the event, you did a
great job!
Preparations continued
unabated back at Pitcheroak School as we finalized our own Christmas
Concert just before the school holidays began. And what a concert that was
too!
We will soon be launching
the Alvechurch Community Choir, our brand new singing group. As the New
Year looms why not ring the changes and join us? You absolutely won't
regret it. Need some more encouragement? Listen to what Brian Eno had to
say when asked by Jarvis Cocker to put forward his manifesto for 2009. The
interview was broadcast on BBC Radio 4's 'Today' programme on 31st

November 2008
- Thank you to those of you who kindly pointed out our email address was
not working. We wondered where all the mail had gone! You'll be glad to
hear it has now been well and truly 'sorted'. Feel free to drop us a line
so we can keep in touch.
What happened to November? We have been busy, busy, busy! The ELS choir
went out 'on the road' and sang 'I Wish' for Edward's Trust at their
Remembrance Service. Beautiful! Well done to one and all - including all
four members of Pitcheroak School staff who gave up their free time to
drive the team over and help throughout the performance.
We are now busy preparing
for our part in the Mencap carol concert at Worcester Cathedral. Watch
this space, we'll let you know how we get on.
Keep your fundraising ideas
coming in and if anyone would like to organize something, let us know!
Mr G. and Blue visited the
Palace Theatre, Redditch for a meeting with Faye Todd. They had a great
time discussing new ideas and exploring new avenues. Faye watched the ELS
DVD for the very first time and was very impressed with what has been
achieved so far.
