Pitcheroak School Uses Music to Communicate

Music, and in particular singing, plays a key role in Pitcheroak School's work with young people. We are a singing and signing school! Group singing provides us with opportunities to develop signing alongside vocal expression. With early years children this plays an important role in language development. Our 'whole school' singing events see the older students acting as positive role models for the younger children.

At Pitcheroak School we use singing in all our whole school assemblies, our departmental assemblies, our lessons and in our school choir - which is an extra curricular activity.

Our choir takes part in local music festivals and in County wide events such as the Voices and Visions Showcase and the MENCAP Carol Concert which is held annually at Worcester Cathedral.
